Britney Spears has been accused of trying to dupe fans after releasing a heavily airbrushed image of herself as she prepares to release her new album.
The 29-year-old Toxic star has a history of doctoring her image to produce glamorous publicity shots and this time, it's ahead of her new release, seventh LP Femme Fatale.
In the airbrushed picture of the singer wearing a black and white belted polka dot swimsuit, the singer's skin is glowingly clear and almost ethereally youthful.

And compared to pictures of her performing at the weekend in a PVC basque, she also appears pounds lighter.
The mother-of-two has been honest about being 'touched up' in the past and last year released before and after shots from a shoot for fashion firm Candie’s.

This time round however, one shot is so heavily doctored that her arm looks blurred.
The pcitures are in stark contrast to Brit's live return at the weekend, which she made in a series of revealing costumes.
The star hasn't played live for a year, but made her scantily-clad comeback on stage in San Francisco on Sunday, which was filmed for U.S. TV show Good Morning America to be broadcast this morning.

Elsewhere, it's been reported the star is desperately trying to lose a stone in a month and is allegedly threatening to sack any of her crew if they turn up for work hungover.
The fast food-loving star is said to be on a strict diet and she wants her team in shape too.

The mother-of-two put on an energetic performance and moved around the stage like she had never left it.
Spears closed the show with the song Till The World Ends wearing a black leather leotard spotted with flashing red lights and fishnet stockings.

Her backing dancers have been banned from drinking alcohol anywhere near her, to the extent it's reported they've been told not avoid it the day before work too so they're not suffering the after effects.
And she has apparently stopped her boyfriend Jason Trawick, 39, from bringing junk food anywhere near her.
A source told The Sun: 'Dieting's hard for Britney. She and Jason love going to drive-throughs and cooking big meals for the boys like hot dogs with pasta, which is her absolute favourite.

More than 5,000 fans saw the star in real life at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Sunday.
And after the show, she took to her Facebook page and added pictures of her performance and wrote: 'OMFG it feels good to be on stage again!!'
